LAST OF THE MEN’S WINTER WEAR
We may be booking flights for our summer holidays, but for many of us there’s still the last of the winter weather yet to come. It’s the time of year to hit the final ski resort music festivals and embrace the last blast of winter before the season thaws out.
The good news for guys is that gents have never been better catered for when it comes to fashion for the chillier weeks of the year. Urban Outfitters is among the stores rocking the ongoing menswear trend for Fair Isle knits and kitsch Nordic designs. Check out the tongue-twisting “Humör Duo Snowflake Intarsia Cardigan” and “Woolrich Snowflake Intarsia Shawl Sweater”. We love the toggle-fastening snowflake hoodies too.
Speaking of toggles, we notice that River Island also has some cool-yet-aff ordable hooded sweater jackets with toggle fastening and fleece linings. Cosy!
A classic puffer jacket is a long-standing cold- weather favourite of Hollywood types like Josh Hartnett. If you want to splash some cash on your last winter jacket of the season (treat it as an investment; you can always wear it again next year), then look to G-Star. For some years now they’ve been collaborating with multi-tasking design superstar Marc Newsome, and this season he brings us a covetable navy puffer jacket, as well as a reversible body warmer that can be navy or a vivid orange, depending on your mood.
If you’re a serious skier or boarder and don’t want to compromise on quality kit, you’ll like new Swedish brand POC. Its stylish body armour and helmets are designed without any “gnarly” graphics. We like the two-tone red and white helmet, which fits the ongoing colour blocking trend (ask a girl!).
When all the outdoor-wear is peeled off you’ll be left with a T-shirt. We like the new tees at Quiksilver, and the long- sleeve letterbox designs from The North Face. Or why not make a statement? Try French Connection’s “I’m the Hottest”. We think you are!
